The GCCSA Food Pantry
The Food Pantry of GCCSA, Inc. distributes fresh food items through its Crisis Food Assistance and Food for Change Market. We are a model Houston Food Bank partner and serve an average of 5,000 individuals per month.
We welcome anyone who is food insecure to visit us for needed assistance that includes groceries and essential household items.
Key Features of the GCCSA Food Pantry
- Emergency Food Assistance: We distribute food items to support those in urgent need, serving an average of 450 individuals each month.
- Client-Select Model: Our pantry operates on a client-select basis, allowing customers to choose their groceries with dignity and comfort.
- Educational Events: We offer nutrition education classes focused on healthy eating on a budget, empowering our clients to make informed choices.
- Improved Health Outcomes: By increasing access to nutritious food, we help individuals manage their health better and alleviate the financial stress of grocery costs, contributing to improved health outcomes and reduced food insecurity.
