#GivingTuesday 2018

Give your vulnerable Houston-area neighbors the chance to unlock their potential!

GCCSA provides rich benefits and resources designed to assist – families in earning a living wage, individuals in the advancement of their education, and communities in gaining economic security.

Your donation today can help us impact community members with our vital programs and resources!

Did you know . . .
  • Head Start/ Early Head Start children are 31% less likely to have been held back a grade? GCCSA’s Head Start/ Early Head Start Program services over 1,800 early learners in the Houston area. Your generous donations will help us have a major impact on our future leaders.
  • One in SIX people in the Houston-Harris County area suffer from food insecurity at any given time. GCCSA’s Food Pantry helps more than 10,000 households per year with crisis food assistance. Your generous donation, however small, will help us provide full pantries and stomachs for our neighbors.
  • More than 774,000 residents of the Houston-Harris County area live below the poverty line. GCCSA’s programs can serve more than 17,000 Houstonians in a typical year. Last year, we were able to prevent 500+ individuals and families from being evicted and awarded over 300 scholarships to help with vocational training. With your generous donation, GCCSA will be able to help even more of our vulnerable neighbors lift themselves out of economic hardship!
Educating, equipping and empowering. That is what we aim to do every day. GCCSA programs such as the GCCSA Food Pantry, Vocational Training & Scholarships, Nutrition Workshops, Credit and Budgeting Classes, and Head Start/ Early Head Start seek to “give someone a fish”, “teach them how to fish” and, in many instances, educate them on how to buy the whole pond.

Your gift will go a long way in ensuring our working poor neighbors are able to thrive and not just survive, as they journey towards economic freedom.
