HOUSTON, TX – Santa Claus might come to town riding in his classic red sleigh pulled by reindeer. But over in Houston’s East End, it’s a Harris County Precinct 6 motorcycle escort that ushers in “Pancho” Claus in his drop-top, low-rider caddy!
The jolly red suit is replaced with a stylish red “zootsuit”, shades and a black fedora hat. He doesn’t look like Santa Claus, but Pancho’s message is the same… to make kids smile this holiday season.
Richard Reyes has been playing Pancho for the last 32 years, delivering Christmas gifts to the children of the East End. This year, 84 kids from the Early Head Start Center are learning all about the gift of giving from Pancho and Precinct 6.
All toys were voluntarily donated by precinct 6 employees and generous people from the community.
