Information is a powerful tool for change, and it is our intent for this website to assist you in your efforts. We stand committed to insuring that those who choose to utilize the numerous resources and take advantage of these invaluable opportunities, will be equipped with the necessary tools to meet the many challenges that lie ahead.
Gulf Coast Community Services Association (GCCSA) is the agency officially designated by Harris County Commissioners Court to administer services to income-eligible individuals and families. In fact, GCCSA has blazed trails for almost 40 years. Yet, as different as the world is today, our core focus has never wavered: GCCSA exists to strengthen the educational, social, and economic well-being of children and families as they move toward independence and self-sufficiency.
I am proud and honored to serve as the executive director of the first comprehensive service provider in the city of Houston, and I want to extend a heartfelt appreciation to our governing bodies, employees, funding sources, community supporters, and stakeholders who are dedicated to GCCSA remaining a beacon of light in the community.
We are working tirelessly to improve ourselves to meet the needs of our dynamic community. That is why we strive to offer such an array of high-quality services which include, but are not limited to the following: After School Program, Back to School Program, Comprehensive Case Management, Prescription Vouchers, Clothes Closet, Food Pantry, Early Head Start, Head Start, Housing Counseling, Rental/Mortgage Assistance, Senior Services, G.E.D. Classes, English as a Second Language Classes, Computer Classes, and Youth Services.
As a Community Action Agency, we are 100% committed to providing high-quality services in the Houston area to assist the community in transitioning out of poverty. Specifically, our goals are to:
1. Increase Family Independence and Self-Sufficiency
2. Provide Quality Social Services

Sowing seeds of success in the Houston community is our driving force for we fervently believe that the future viability of our state depends on the way in which GCCSA cares for people: pregnant moms, newborns, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, high school students, adults, and seniors. My employees and I are public servants, and we want to encourage and empower you to maximize and develop your potential!!! So, please take advantage of the services we provide.
